Welcome to the Dollydoodles Online Boutique

All clothing for sale in the Dollydoodles Boutique has been specially made for Sasha, Gregor and the Sasha babies. The outfits are my own designs and I make the patterns from scratch, carefully trying out and changing each one until it is a perfect fit. In order to maintain a high standard of fit and finish, my output is limited. Some of my outfits are 'specials' and are referenced with SS, GS or SBS. This means that the outfit includes an item which is made from a fabric of which I only have a small amount, and may not be available at a later date. Other outfits, with references starting with just S, G or SB, such as those made from plain cotton jersey fabric, are regularly available because the fabric is from a repeatable source. Dollydoodles is just me and my sewing machine, and my outfits cannot be bought elsewhere.

Please note that items are made with the adult collector in mind and may contain parts which make them unsuitable as playthings for very young children.

Joggers and Hoodie set Ref: SS 044 Sold

Sasha's all set for a gymnastics class here in her delicate pink hoodie and trackie set, decorated with maybe a picture of herself ? ;o) I have deliberately used Sasha's skin tone for the embroidery. Made in a beautifully soft cotton jersey fabric, she wears jogging bottoms with elasticated waist and ankle cuffs, and the hoodie opens right up the back, allowing for fast changing, and fastens with press studs. The hoodie is finished with an authentic cord feature, threaded through metal eyelets in the hood. And slightly more in keeping than the corded hood, my Sasha waif wears her short wig this time to comply with Health and Safety regulations for PE activities, whereby long hair must be tied up. Have you ever tried tying up a PeggySue wig?!!

Hoodie and Leggings set Ref: SBS 054 Sold

On a nautical theme, little Gregor seems to be asking where his toy boat is - good question! He wears a navy blue cotton jersey hoodie, embroidered with a ship motif - not sure what sort: maybe a tug boat or a trawler, or perhaps that one in the famous poem that goes 'dirty British coaster with a salt-caked smoke stack' - John Masefield's 'Cargoes'? Back to the outfit! The hoodie opens at the back and is fastened with press studs, and the striped navy blue and bluey-white leggings have an elasticated waist.

Hoodie Ref: SS 043 £20 - One left!

And here comes another young lady who thinks that spring is here! But maybe just as well as I know that there are several Sashas out there who like to get their spring wardrobe planned and ready in advance. The soft pastel-coloured stars on this hoodie will go with a variety of colours for 'bottoms', which reminds me, I do need to sort out the cord trousers range available in the 'Basics' section! As usual, the hoodie opens at the back and up into the hood to accommodate long, non-bendy arms and lots of hair, fastening with press studs, and is finished off with white metal eyelets and a threaded cord through the hood.

Leggings and Hoodie set Ref: SBS 055 Sold

Sorry, little Gregor, still haven't found that toy boat. But this outfit is definitely just right for the next line of the poem (see ref: SBS 054) which goes something like 'butting through the Channel in the mad March days.....! This time with a slightly different embroidered motif on a navy blue hoodie, little Gregor continues the nautical theme with navy blue anchors printed on his white leggings. The leggings have an elasticated waist and the hoodie opens at the back, fastening with press studs.

Hooded Coat and Sleepsuit set Ref: SBS 052 £30 Sale Pending

Little Sasha wears a cosy-looking cream fleece hooded coat, which has a matching furry trim, and is fastened with flower-shaped buttons over press studs. The sleepsuit is made from a jersey-weight knit fabric in cream with a tiny rosebud pattern, giving just a hint of pink. It opens at the back and fastens with press studs. I have a limited amount of the cream fleece used to trim the hood of this coat, so it will not be available as a Basic.

Joggers and Hodie set Ref: SBS 056 Sold

When I took these photos, we had just had a fresh fall of overnight snow, so have that beautiful bright light everywhere. This outfit has an apple green hoodie, so the two outside photos are better representatives of the colour than the softer-looking green in the centre photo. The back-opening hoodie is enhanced with a ribbon trim showing some of the characters which appear on the patterned leggings, namely a teddy and a bumble bee. The other one is a snail, who is very sweet, but doesn't seem to be included on the matching leggings for some reason! The hoodie fastens at the back with press studs and the leggings have an elasticated waist.

Leggings and Hoodie set Ref: SBS 054 £26

You may be thinking that I listed this outfit a few weeks ago, but the previous one had red leggings and a grey top, so I just thought I'd see what it looked like the other way around! Unfortunately, the red is looking rather orange on my monitor, but it is actually a proper ladybird red. Both items are made from cotton jersey fabric. The leggings have an elasticated waist and the hoodie opens right up the back and into the hood, just as for big Gregor and Sasha, and fastens with press studs. It features a kangaroo-style pouch pocket with an iron-on ladybird motif.

Hoodie with Double Sleeve Ref: GS 039 £22

Gregor is wearing a double-sleeve effect hoodie in navy blue with grey marl hood and lower sleeves. The dinosaur design on the front is machine embroidered. The hoodie opens up the back and into the hood, fastening with press studs and the hood is finished with cord detail, threaded through metal eyelets.

Returning at last after many requests, the Dollydoodles Basics range now includes the very popular zipped hoodies. These were one of the very first items I ever made for Gregor, and established the style of clothing that eventually became my trademark! At the moment, I have red (yes, it is red and not orange!), navy blue and grey marl, but there will be more colours to follow - it's just that these are particularly fiddly to make. All in cotton jersey, they feature a working open-ended zip, so can be worn unzipped over a t-shirt or sweatshirt, and the hood features metal eyelets through which an authentic-looking cord is threaded. They are modelled here with denim jeans, also from the Basics range, and available a little lower down the page.

The back-opening hoodies are all made from cotton jersey fabric and are fully washable. The back opens right up into the hood to allow easy dressing. I believe my design to be an original, Dollydoodles. The hoodie fastens with hand-sewn press studs and the hood features authentic detail with a white cord threaded through metal eyelets. These hoodies are also available in Navy Blue and White.

Every boy's must-have accessory, the saggy beanie is back to keep the ears warm now that the weather is cooler, or maybe just to tame some wayward hair, and let's face it, it's got much more street-cred than the odd sock that we've heard some Sashas and Gregors wear when no one's looking!

Worn here over a hoodie, I'm sure these gilets would look just as good over those beautiful jumpers that Sasha and Gregor get knitted for them. Each gilet is individually quilted with 2oz polyester wadding and is fully lined in white or black polycotton. The stand-up collar is also padded and they fasten with a working open-ended zip. Website now fixed, but I forgot to take a photo for the last space!

I'm wishing I could still knit (which I can't very much as it gave me an RSI!) as I can just see Sasha and Gregor looking fabulous in a pair of these cord trousers and some of those brilliant sweaters I see that people have knitted for them - OK, perhaps Gregor wouldn't look too good in hot pink, but you get the idea! They are made from my jeans pattern , so fasten at the back, but Sasha refused to model a back view this time! They are made in either babycord or what used to be called needlecord but now seems to be corduroy with various numbers of 'wales' and there are more colours to come.

Christmas is over so time to start thinking about summer clothing! Here is just a taster of colours available for Sasha and Gregor's t-shirts. There will be more to come in the next few months. The t-shirts open right down the back and fasten with press studs. The short sleeves have a double row of top-stitching on the hem. They are all made from cotton jersey interlock fabric.

Almost as versatile as jeans, Gregor's joggers are made in comfortable cotton jersey and are fully washable. They are elasticated at the waist and ankles. I've just made a new dark grey version but these are awaiting photos.

Straight-Legged Jeans Ref: SG 013 £10 Dark or Light Denim

Dollydoodles' jeans are the result of months of experimentation and I'm really pleased with the final fit.They feature authentic brown top-stitching around the hem and a double row up the side seam. I decided against pockets - they take an age to do (so would put the price up ) and anyway, my hoodies and gilets would cover them up! I also made the decision to fasten them at the back as the waistband overlap makes a lump, however it is fastened, and I'd rather have lumps at the back, where it's not so likely to be seen. They have a 'very false' fly front, which is topstitched in brown.

Jeggings Ref: S007 All Sold

Made from authentic stretch knit denim, these jeggings are just like the real thing with their topstitching around the hem and up the side seams. Unfortunately I am into my last metre of this fabric and am unable to obtain more, so once my stock is exhausted, that's it!

I made a whole batch of these little coats over the summer and they are selling fast! I seem to have come full circle by making these little coats for the Sasha babies as this was what I was making for some dolls which will not be mentioned here, and selling on a site which definitely won't be mentioned, when I was invited to sew for Sasha. But even though that was almost two years ago, I am still being asked to make them in Sasha baby size - so here they are. Two new colours are available - soft yellow and a pretty green which is subtle enough not to be lime, so I think the name to go for is pistachio. My apologies - I forgot to take a photo of the hyacinth coat now that it has its little white heart-shaped buttons. There is room for a beanie hat to be worn with the hood. The coats fasten with press studs, topped with buttons and the hems are finished by hand, so no nasty machine stitches show on the front! Because of difficulties with button suppliers, there may be a variation from the ones shown on the photographs

Well, some of our babies prefer to wear hats with their coats, and some just prefer a hood, so this style is a compromise, although there is still room for a beanie hat to be worn here as well. Made from synthetic fleece fabric, the hood is trimmed with the very soft furry fleece that is used to make those lovely dressing gowns these days. They fasten with press studs, topped with matching or contrasting buttons and hems are finished by hand, so no nasty machine stitching showing on the front! Please note that because of difficulties with supplies of buttons, there may be a variation between what is shown here and what is sent out, so please ask if you specifically want the buttons shown.

Baby Leggings Ref: SB 011 plus colour £8

Easy to make, these - just chop the top off the sleepsuit pattern, I thought. That was this time last year! Unfortunately for me, chopping the top off a sleepsuit results in something very strange but after numerous attempts I have at last achieved baby leggings which look like leggings and fit the babies' little bent legs and sticky-out feet rather well, I think. So, no more cold feet. These versatile little leggings are made from cotton jersey fabric and have an elasticated waist and would look equally good with fleece jackets, sweatshirts and t-shirts (which I haven't made yet) and those fabulous little jumpers that some of you make. Now I just have to sort out the photography skills so that the feet don't look twice as big as they are!
